The international premier of Wilbur the Optical whale went swimmingly during an amazing season at the Adelaide Fringe in February and March, 2020.
Presented by indelabilityarts and based on Karen Lee Roberts’ childrens book, Wilbur and Cecil shared their story to sold out shows at the Big Slapple.

Prepare yourselves for an adventure under the sea…
Plunging the audiences into an immersive underwater world the audience was enthralled by the story of how Wilbur got his glasses, how Cecil the shark became his best friend, and their adventures when they bump into the Wild Starfish Meanies.
Karen Lee Roberts, the narrator, takes everyone through Wilbur’s tale and even helps him and Cecil from time to time. Little kids and big kids alike got to enjoy interactive games during the show (and even the chance to hide and seaweed on stage).

Every one of the eight performances was full of fun, energy and magic. After every show the audience got to meet their favourite characters and play games on stage.
To top off an incredible adventure, the show also received the 2020 Bank SA Adelaide Weekly Fringe John Chataway Innovation Award.
